The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introductory, knowledge based teaching qualification which can be undertaken by individuals who are not yet in a teaching role (pre-service), or are currently teaching (in-service). However, there is a minimum requirement to take part in micro teaching. Micro teaching is an activity where trainee teachers prepare and deliver a short teaching and learning session to their peers and then evaluate their practice. Our online course allows you to access other micro teach sessions to observe as part of your course if you do not have anyone to observe yourself.
The qualification is suitable for individuals who:
•Are not yet in a teaching role (pre-service)
•Are in a teaching role, or who have just started a teaching role (in-service)
•Have the potential to study at this level, which has the same level of demand as that of study for A-levels
•Want a qualification without a minimum teaching practice requirement with potential to progress
•May have already achieved some Learning and Development units that can be brought forward into this teaching qualification (known as QCF equivalents).
To achieve a pass in this qualification a minimum of 12 credits need to be obtained by completeing a varity of different units. There is one Mandatory unit (Understanding Roles,Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and Training) which is the equivilent of 3 credits. There is a variety of 5 other units with verying subject areas to pick from to obtian the last 9 units.

Total Guided learning hours: 86
Total Lesson time per week: 6
Full course duration: Maximum 4 months
Minimum standards in language, literacy, numeracy and ICT are required to attend this course.
Learners should be aged 19 or over to undertake the qualification.
Students should normally have at least a Level 3 (i.e. A-Level/BTEC equivalent) qualification in the subject they wish to teach.
